Selection of Projects in ESI Funds: How to become more efficient?

The European Union will spend will have spent €350 billion in the 2014-2020 period for ESF and ERDF Projects. What is the Value for Money delivered? How to focus on results in selecting projects and how well both Commission and Member States can demonstrate, through their monitoring, that the EU budget is well spent?

Will the key economic and social development problems have been tackled? And looking beyond 2014-2020, how radical are the new draft regulations in terms of the proposed monitoring and evaluation requirements for the 2021-2027 programming period? How will the next funding period focus not only on legality and correctness, but much more on value for money.
