Overview

The internet is changing the world into a global information and knowledge-based society. Digitalisation has now also reached public administration, which leads to a fundamental change and expansion of the possibilities in administrative work. Today and in the future, public authorities will create new ways to communicate and work together, both with each other and with citizens. This means that administrations are working towards improving their communication with citizens to better carry out their public service objectives. Governments enable and oblige public authorities to offer electronic administration services that are simpler, more user-friendly and more efficient. For example, if paperwork were eliminated from the most common service transactions, citizens could gain a lot of hours of free time per year and companies would save a lot of money in administrative work.
