Boyan Milanov

Boyan Milanov is a Bulgarian lawyer who studied law and International relations from 1998 to 2004 at the Sofia University St Kliment Ohridski. Between 2004 and 2009 he held various positions as a barrister (member of the Sofia Bar Association) and worked as a lawyer for the project on establishment and development of the Paying agency for Agriculture and Rural areas in Bulgaria. Since 2009, he has been an official of the European Commission where he has held different positions in the audit, policy and legal departments of the Directorate General for Agriculture and Rural Development (DG AGRI). Since 2017 he is case handler officer in the Unit within DG AGRI responsible for State aid in the agricultural sector and has, since January 2020, been case handler in the Unit in charge of State aid in the agricultural and fisheries sectors within the Directorate General for Competition (DG COMP).
