Christopher Clement-Davies is an international legal and policy adviser and consultant, particularly well-known for his expertise in PPPs and regulatory reform in the infrastructure and energy fields. He has had a distinguished career extending over 30 years, based mainly in the City of London, as both a lawyer and investment banker. He worked as a transactions lawyer for nearly 25 years at four of the largest international law firms (Linklaters, Dentons, Vinson & Elkins and Norton Rose Fulbright) and was a partner and team leader at three of them. He was also a director and banker for some years at one of London’s pre-eminent investment banks, S. G. Warburg (now UBS). He now works independently under his own name. He has worked on energy and infrastructure projects all over the world, with an aggregate value in the tens of billions of dollars. He has been Team Leader for the past five years (and principal draftsman) of the joint United Nations and EBRD project to develop a Model PPP Law for SDG-compliant projects, which has just been completed. He is also the author of a range of published IFI guides to different aspects of PPPs. He is a qualified barrister and solicitor, a member of the Middle Temple and the Law Society of England & Wales.
