Gaetano Maria Giovanni Reale
Presidency of the Council of Ministers, Department for European Policies, Office for the Coordination of State Aid, Rome
Mr. Reale is a qualified attorney (Court of Appeal of Milan) and practiced law from 1997 to 2001 in the tax field and in civil law.
From 2001 to 2009, he worked at the Italian Revenue Agency, first serving at the Central Regulatory and Litigation Directorate, assigned to the International Taxation Office, then as lawyer.
From 2009 to 2010, he worked as director-coordinator of Department III of the former Resources Administration Office at the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance, Department of Finance, Directorate of Tax Justice (DGT); subsequently of Offices III and IV of the same DGT as director-coordinator, and finally of Office IV, responsible for coordination, organization, inspection supervision and automation of the Secretariats of the Tax Commissions.
In 2010, he started working at the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, Department of Public Administration, as middle manager in charge of the Service for the management of general services and of human resources. In 2018, Mr. Reale moved to the Department for European Policies, Office for the coordination of State Aid, where has been working as middle manager in charge of coordinating relations with European institutions (DG Comp particularly) in the field of State Aid, with the following tasks:
- negotiation of regulations (de minimis and GBER) and guidelines on State aids;
- notification of all new aid measures to the Commission.
