Ilias Georgiopoulos

Ilias Georgiopoulos is a Greek qualified lawyer. He is an EU official working for the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Competition (DG COMP) in the State aid Enforcement and Monitoring Unit. Prior to joining DG COMP, Ilias was a member of the Commission’s Legal Service (State aid team). He has also worked for the Single Resolution Board as well as, for several years, in the private sector for an international law firm. He has extensive experience in State aid matters. He studied in Greece (Athens) and the United Kingdom (Oxford).
