Jan Blockx is an assistant professor at the University of Antwerp, Belgium and a visiting lecturer at Kyushu University, Japan. His research and teaching covers various areas of European economic law, with a particular focus on the impact of technological evolution and (de)globalisation. Before his academic career he worked as a private practitioner in EU competition law for ten years, representing clients before the European Commission, the Belgian and Dutch competition authorities, and before the European Court of Justice and national courts. He currently also acts as assessor (member of the decision-making college) of the Belgian Competition Authority.
