Malgorzata Agnieszka Cyndecka

Associate Professor, Faculty of Law at the University of Bergen

Ms. Cyndecka is Associate Professor at the Faculty of Law at the University of Bergen. She is also a leader of the Research Group for EU/EEA Competition and Market Law, Member of Bergen Center for Competition Law and Economics (BECCLE) and The Young Academy of Norway, AYF. In May 2019 she joined the European State Aid Law Quarterly as Associate Editor.

EU/EEA State aid law is her main field of expertise, but she also works with data privacy issues. In 2015 she defended her PhD thesis “The Applicability and Application of the Market Economy Investor Principle”. In 2016-2017 she was a member of the Norwegian Government’s Working Group “On a level playing field” that in 2018 released a report concerning amongst others the application of the MEOP to interventions made by the Norwegian municipalities and regional authorities. Her postdoctoral project concerned the use of the MEOP in the financial sector and was financed by the Norwegian Finansmarkedsfondet.  She also teaches EU/EEA State aid law at the Faculty of law (an independent State aid course course) and supervises master students.”
