Mislav Sovulj
Assistant Director, Directorate for Control of Project Implementation I – ESI Funds: Social, Health and Entrepreneurial Infrastructure and Pre-accession Funds) – DCPI I, Zagreb
Mislav Sovulj is an Assistant Director with the Central Finance and Contracting Agency (CFCA), Croatia where his team manages over 200 EU-funded contracts. He is currently the Head of Directorate for Control of Project Implementation I – ESI Funds: Social, Health and Entrepreneurial Infrastructure and Pre-Accession Funds, in which the CFCA acts as one of the intermediate bodies in the Competitiveness and Cohesion Operational Programme. As a level 2 intermediate body, the CFCA is responsible for the verification of the execution of contractual obligations and the control of expenditure eligibility.
Previously, he worked on Croatia’s Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) Component I and Transition Facility Programme, with CFCA as the Implementation Agency for Pre-Accession Funds. This included fund management, quality control of procurement, planning, implementation and monitoring of all IPA and Transition Facility projects, contracting, administrative and financial control and reporting within the decentralized implementation system of EU-funded programmes in Croatia.
With over 14 years of experience in EU-financed projects, his professional experience spans subjects including working within EU funds’ management operating structure, developing institutional frameworks, and management and control systems. He has an MA in Contemporary European Studies from the University of Sussex, United Kingdom.
