Nicole Robins

Head of State Aid and Partner in Charge, Oxera, Brussels

Nicole Robins heads the State Aid practice at Oxera and is the partner in charge of Oxera’s Brussels office.

She advises clients on economic and financial issues relating to a diverse range of state aid matters. In particular, Nicole advises clients on assessments of the market economy operator principle (MEOP), the application of state aid rules for services of general economic interest (SGEI), and assessments of the compatibility of aid. She provides advice on state aid compliance, and advises beneficiaries, complainants and member states during state aid investigations and in litigation cases in front of the European courts.

Nicole has given expert economic evidence in front of the General Court on state aid matters on a number of occasions. She also teaches the state aid module on the postgraduate diploma in Economics for Competition Law at King’s College London.
