Ricardo Carrilho

Ricardo Carrilho has been Deputy Secretary General of the Ministry of Home Affairs in charge of International Relations and Management of EU Funds since 1st of December 2014. Prior to that, he held the position of Director for the Area of International Relations (equivalent to Deputy Director General) at the same ministry from December 2009 to August 2014. From 2005 to 2009, he acted as Advisor to the Portuguese Ministers of Home Affairs. He has gained vast experience in various aspects of international relations, internal security and migration management, working for, amongst others, the Portuguese Ministries of Home Affairs, of Foreign Affairs and of Economy and Innovation (in particular the Portuguese Foreign Trade Institute), as well as in the research area, in the Portuguese Institute of International Relations at the Universidade Nova de Lisboa.
