Seppe Maes
Postdoctoral Researcher & Teacher, Faculty of Social Sciences and Solvay Business School, Vrije Universiteit Brussel
Dr. Seppe Maes is Postdoctoral Researcher at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Solvay Business School of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) and the Brussels Centre for Competition Policy (BCCP), where he teaches managerial economics and competition policy. In 2026, he obtained his PhD on distortions of competition, with several chapters of his dissertation having been nominated for, or receiving, academic awards. In addition to his research in competition policy and industrial organisation, he provides advisory services on State aid, and the FSR. Furthermore, he leads capacity-building projects on competition policy for a wide range of partners, including undertakings and governments.
