LATAM – The Role of the Foreign Chemical Manufacturer under the New Chemical Registration Schemes
- Latin America’s REACH-inspired schemes are coming online with first registrations already underway in Chile and Colombia.
- For now, Chile and Colombia have not adopted any structures like the EU “Only Representative” – and Peru’s initial decree failed to deliver one, either.
- Foreign manufacturers are left with the challenge of needing to ensure market access for their products without a direct way to register their own substances in the new systems.
- We will explore the regulatory structures and discuss potential avenues that foreign manufacturers can use to keep those markets open to their products.
