International trade and customs lawyer, Founding partner at Cassidy Levy Kent Europe

Yves Melin is an international trade and customs lawyer with 25 years of experience in Brussels. He is a founding partner in the law firm Cassidy Levy Kent Europe, where he heads the customs practice. Yves assists clients in a broad range of customs and international trade matters, including compliance programmes, assistance in investigations and litigation, understanding and influencing the EU’s customs policy, and duty suspension filings. He has extensive experience in coordinating customs recovery and enforcement actions across multiple EU member states. He is the founder of Greenlane.eu, a unique alliance of specialized customs practitioners located throughout the EU, and in major global jurisdictions, providing a one-stop-shop, seamless advice and assistance for customs questions and investigations globally. He is the Vice President of CONFIAD, the European association of customs representatives, and an active member of the Trade Contact Group of the European Commission’s DGTAXUD.

In addition to his legal practice, Yves is active in academia. He serves on the Editorial Board of the Global Trade and Customs Journal (Kluwer), is a research fellow and founding member of the Customs and Trade Law Academy of the University of Liège, and lectures at several universities, including Liège and Antwerp.
