Olga Simeon
State aid attaché, Permanent Representation of Italy to the EU, Brussels
Olga Simeon is a senior EU State aid specialist with over 22 years of experience. Since 2024 she has been State aid attaché at the Italian Permanent Representation to the EU, advising authorities across all sectors and representing Italy in Council and Commission working groups on competition. From 2016 to 2023 she was seconded to the European Commission’s DG Competition, where she became a recognised expert in transport State aid and contributed to crisis-response frameworks and major cases. She has been a civil servant of the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia since 2003, working full-time on State aid and coordinating Italian Regions on compliance and implementation of EU State aid law.
