Dora Szentpaly-Kleis received her law degree from the Catholic University of Budapest. She completed her LL.M. in comparative law at the German Speaking University of Budapest (Andrassy Gyula University). After several years of working in law firms in Budapest and Munich she became an advisor at the legal and competitiveness department of SME United, the European umbrella association representing crafts, small-, and medium sized enterprises. Since 2013, she has been working in the European Commission’s Directorate-General Health and Food Safety (DG SANTE). At DG SANTE, she was first responsible for the adoption of delegated acts pertaining to Regulation 609/2013 on food for specific groups. Later on she dealt with food waste prevention policy, country of origin labelling under the Regulation 1169/2011 on food information to consumers and some specific aspects of the General Food Law. Currently she is responsible for the implementation of the Farm to Fork Strategy.
