Dr. Luke Butler

Dr. Luke R.A. Butler is an Associate Professor in Law at the University of Nottingham where he specialises in commercial aspects of public procurement law and policy. In the area of defence-procurement related research, Luke is the author of Transatlantic Defence Procurement: EU and US Defence Procurement Regulation in the Transatlantic Defence Market (Cambridge University Press 2017) and has also published widely on issues such as the EU Directive on Intra-Community transfers of defence-related products (Common Market Law Review 2017) and regulation of defence contract pricing. Luke has also taught on courses such as Commercial Relationships in the Defence Environment on MSc programmes (by invitation at Cranfield University, UK). Luke is the joint General Editor of the Public Procurement Law Review alongside its founder Professor Sue Arrowsmith QC (Hons), member of the Public Procurement Research Group at the University of Nottingham, and a member of the UK Procurement Lawyers’ Association. Luke is also the Director of the Executive Programme in Public Procurement Law and Policy at the University of Nottingham and a Senior Fellow of Advance HE.
