He is currently case handler at DG Competition, European Commission, at the enforcement and monitoring Unit (H4).
From 1997 to 2008, he worked as a case handler in merger control dealing with many high profile merger cases in energy and IT services. Since May 2008, he joined State aid, first on policy developments with respect to annual State aid reporting and State aid notifications as well as dealing with inter alia land sale cases. Since 2014, he has worked on recovery and monitoring cases and has contributed to the monitoring policy, among other tasks.
He graduated in computer science (Germany) in 1986. In 1993, he completed a post-graduate academic study in economics (Germany).
