AI & Competition Law – Market Power, Data, and Algorithmic Practices

AI & Competition Law – Market Power, Data, and Algorithmic Practices - Pictures Events 2023 92

Artificial intelligence is increasingly shaping competitive dynamics across markets. From algorithmic pricing and automated decision-making to data-driven market power and the role of foundation models, AI systems raise novel questions for competition law and enforcement. Competition authorities across the EU are actively examining how AI affects market structure, collusion risks, abuse of dominance, and merger control, while courts and policymakers grapple with how existing competition rules apply to AI-driven conduct.

This event explores the intersection of AI and competition law from a legal and enforcement-focused perspective. It will examine how AI systems influence competitive behaviour, the challenges they pose for detection and enforcement, and how EU competition law frameworks are adapting to data-driven and algorithmic markets.
