Professor Goh Choo Ta is the Director at Institute for Environment and Development (LESTARI), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), and fellow of Institut Kimia Malaysia (Malaysian Institute of Chemistry, IKM). He has more than 18 years of experiences in the field of chemical governance and chemical safety. Prof. Goh has been appointed by Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Malaysia (NRES) as the Head of Advisory Panel for the National Committee on Strengthening the Governance of Hazardous Chemicals; appointed by Ministry of Health (MOH) as Environmental Health Expert in the field of chemical governance and chemical safety; and appointed by Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) as Member (Professional) in the Technical Committee of CLASS Regulations 2013; and appointed by National Authority for Chemical Weapon Convention as member of the National Scientific Advisory Board. Also, Prof. Goh was invited by Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) to serve as National Expert at the Workshop on ASEAN-Japan Chemical Safety Database (AJCSD). Prof. Goh is also the Advisory Editorial Board member for ACS Chemical Health and Safety, and the Editorial Board member for the journal International Chemical Regulatory and Law Review.
