State Aid for Transport Services and Infrastructure

Public support for transport must comply with State aid rules. For instance the question arise on all level of public administration : Is State aid involved? Is the compatibility of the public measures with European law ensured? Avoid unlawful State aid is crucial for the successful and sustainable provision of transport services to all European citizens.

With a special focus on best practices and case studies, this intensive training will provide you with concrete and practical examples on how to deal with State aid in maritime, aviation and rail projects.

Methodology & Structure

  • The training will provide you with a comprehensive overview of the current State aid control system in the transport sector.
  • Various presentations, practical exercises and group work will enable you to apply the guideline and the GBER in the field of Maritime/Aviation/Rail correctly in practice.
  • Participate in interactive sessions and exercises on MEIP and calculation of compensation.
  • This training will be conducted by State aid Expert Phedon Nicolaides, in addition to EU and Member States’ institutions, as well as leading law firms.
