Green public procurement (GPP) has the potential to have a major impact on the sustainability efforts of the European Union. By purchasing environmental friendly products, services and works, public authorities, who are the single biggest consumer, can make a significant contribution to sustainable production and consumption.
So far GPP has been a voluntary instrument of EU member states but it has played a key role in the efficient use of resources in the European economy. With that in mind, the use of GPP demands a clear definition of ecological criteria in the public procurement process.
This online workshop is designed to provide you with fundamental knowledge in green public procurement and teach you best practices in applying rules to foster sustainability. You will have the opportunity to engage with our experts from the private and public sector and discuss any questions you may have.
